Civil protection meets school

Lecco hosts the closing event of the "Ambasciatori" project

Tomorrow, May 11, marks the final day of the "Ambasciatori—Ambassadors" project, which is organized as part of the "Civil Protection meets school" initiative by the Lombardy Region's network of Civil Protection Promotion Centers. This project is being conducted in collaboration with the Regional School Office and the provinces of Lecco and Lodi. The final day will be held at the Province of Lecco.

The project, part of the I don't take risks School activities organized by the regional civil protection department in agreement with the local school offices, involved 1,500 students from about 30 institutes. The first phase was dedicated to training teachers and students in secondary schools in the provinces of Lecco and Lodi; then, the students, supported by civil protection volunteers, became real ambassadors of the prevention culture, bringing good practices to primary schools in the area.

The event will be attended by Titti Postiglione, Deputy Head of the Civil Protection Department, representatives of the Lombardy Region's civil protection structure, other institutions, volunteers, and schools. Each of the 173 young participants who actively participated in the initiative will receive an ambassador's diploma.

The day will also be an opportunity to consolidate the link between the school world and the broader civil protection world. This will be achieved through sharing experiences and best practices, with recognition given to the crucial role played by volunteers involved in the "I don't take risks" campaign and related school activities. Younger generations can be increasingly engaged thanks to their efforts.
